Pine Needles For Vitamin C

Dijukno that a cup of pine needle tea has the same amount of vitamin C as half a dozen lemons? You can gather new growing, lighter colored near the end of the branch needles.  Boil your water, turn off the heat, then
add the needles to the hot simmering water, and let it steep for at least 30 minutes.  Boiling the needles boils off the vitamin C.  Depending how many needles you used in your water, the tea will range anywhere from a yellow to reddish color.  The darker it is, the more vitamin C you can drink.  It also contains a healthy dose of Vitamin A.  Several other varieties of pine work as well; each having its own flavor.  I like to use local honey as a sweetener.  Warning:  Some people may be allergic to this tea.  Pregnant women should avoid pine needle tea. It may cause abortions to take place within one day.  Some evergreens can be poisonous.  Make sure you have the right tree's needles.

  1. Wow, but ... I also heard vitamin C breaks down when boiled?
